We are a group of stilt-walking musicians who have brought all of our experience in performing as part of other companies (Rumpel Stilt's Kin, Neighbourhood Watch, Poles Apart, Stomp!) into our own stiltwalking band. The Top Bananas play music on stilts and are based in Brighton , England. This band on stilts features a leaping monkey on bouncy stilts who plays an oil-can guitar, harmony vocals, a horn section, and a rhythm section. The band is all about fun and plays a selection of Jazz, Funk, Disco and Ska classics. Besides the Jungle Band there are also Western, Sporty, 70's Disco, Hippy/Flowerchildren, Floppy Toppers and of course Black Tie versions available. Key Points: • Jungle-themed band features “Jumping Monkey” on spring-loaded stilts • Jazz, Funk, Disco & Ska Classics all get The Top Banana treatment • Our musicians have many years of professional and international live music and stilt experience at all kinds of festivals, events and openings • Five-piece band of harmony vocals, oil-can guitar, horns, bass instrument & percussion (with smaller groupings available) • Self-contained, electro-acoustic (no PA required) • Outdoor or indoor, walkabout or stage |
Top Bananas are a five piece, acoustic band consisting of: Tuba Trombone Drums Guitar Saxophone STANDARD SHOW: 3 x 30 minutes or 2 x 45 minutes (show times can be flexible). Top Bananas hold full Public Liability Insurance. |

We were somewhat constricted by budget and so I asked Jim to play as part of a duo ( I believe they are usually a five piece). They were exceptionally professional, performed three half hour slots and stayed all day to do this. They performed in the foyer and later when we had a mix up of times up on the main stage they went upstairs and did an impromptu set up there too. They were a real hit and very easy going on what was a hectic day.
